The other day I was so swamped with clients that I ended up finishing my final session around 7 o’clock. Sarah was a huge help, as usual. Although the phone kept ringing, I insisted that she was done for the day. I sent her home around 5 o’clock to enjoy what was left of the warm Manhattan evening. The weather has been unpredictable as always, but this particular afternoon was remarkably mild, and I know how much Sarah loves taking long walks. This afternoon was too perfect to let her pass up.
After Sarah left, I received an interesting phone call. I often hear from women in all stages of relational crisis. As an intuitive astrologer, I refrain from giving advice to these women until I have a chance to pull out my ephemeris and complete a full analysis of their natal chart. The woman reminded me of myself in many ways. She spoke of her early marriage and quick divorce as well as her seemingly unattainable expectations.
She insisted that the men she encountered were all the same. She shared her birth information as well as her ex-husband’s, and I immediately saw their incompatibility. A sun in Aries with a sun in Taurus will inevitably lead the horned creatures (ram and bull) to bump heads.
I suggested to her that before she committed to a relationship with another man, it might help to check their astrological compatibility. I also assured her that her expectations were attainable—it’s simply a matter of time and perspective.
Like this young woman, I married and divorced young. Our differences weren’t apparent from the start, but nothing in the stars and planets could’ve prevented our eventual breakup.
I truly enjoy my independence now, and although it would be nice to find a man who is as passionate about his career as I am about mine, who loves animals and who enjoys shopping for antiques, I do not need a man to be happy. My career and loved ones make me very happy. The ability to help others every day is extremely gratifying as well.
